BROAD SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Plans, schedules and releases purchased and manufactured components and finished goods. Monitors status of requirements and orders for exceptions and expedite/cancel as appropriate.
Develop strategies to reduce inventory levels, reduce lead times, and increase quality.
This ensures the efficient flow of materials to internal and external customers to support > 95% on time delivery, reducing past dues to less than ½ day’s sales, while maintaining inventory goals.
DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops material procurement plans to provide on time delivery of finished goods for customer orders. Reviews part requirements generated by MRP, or Kanban triggers and utilizes Pall’s Enterprise System (SAP) to evaluate component material requirements for internal manufacturing consumption as well as external customer orders. Releases manufacturing production orders and communicates effectively with operations personnel and supervisors on the status of schedule delays, customer expedites or cancellations, and schedule attainment concerns.
Purchases required material from specific, approved suppliers by interpreting material requirements data and generating appropriate purchase orders to procure material in a timely basis. Effectively communicates requirements to suppliers, expedites purchase orders, clears receiving rejects, and invoicing discrepancies as needed. Closes out and files purchase orders as appropriate.
Release Manufacturing Work Orders and prepare documentation and work packages required for meeting customer delivery and quality requirements.
Arrange for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies and parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
Maintain Kanban process by updating quantities, implementing spike cards, and ensuring process adherence.
Release replenishment orders to suppliers. This may be performed through Kanban releases or manual P.O placement.
Contact suppliers to verify delivery dates as necessary.
Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands utilizing the Kanban system for all ‘A’ and ‘B” parts.
Confer with Pall Materials and/or Commodity Managers in negotiating “Blanket Orders”, preferred suppliers and working through supplier issues. Assist in developing 3PQ&L priorities and needs.
Use available tools, information from Sales/Contracts and production capabilities to develop and adjust forward looking production plans, material requirements and Kanban adjustments.
Collaborate with the Value Stream Team to develop and maintain visual production scheduling processes and changes.
Provide updated ship dates and communication to the appropriate personnel.
Act upon the disposition of Non Conformance Reports.
Participation and collaboration with the Value Stream Team in Daily Walkthroughs, weekly team meetings and monthly Policy Deployment Reviews.
Provide production lead times based on material lead times, production capacity and capability. Collaborate with necessary functions that will assist in determining the appropriate response to the customer or sales entity.
Help drive Kanban and other operational excellence initiatives to maximize working capital and organizational effectiveness.
Associates Degree in Business and minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory, production control, planning and/or purchasing is required.
This position requires knowledge of Procurement, MRP, Supplier Management, Inventory Management, Production Planning, Scheduling and Kanban.
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
ISM or APICS certification, experience within an ISO-9001 manufacturing setting, and familiarity with SAP (PP and MM modules) preferred.
Experience providing positive impact working capital through the effective management of inventory and cash flow.
Experience in Project Management is preferred.
Experience building business relationships at all levels of the organization and external contacts at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing including cross functional working.
Proven ability to professionally interact with others during change and uncertainty while maintaining focus and professionalism.
