Summary / Purpose
The AVP Procurement position is responsible for procuring product for resale and overseeing the daily activities of the purchasing department. The AVP Procurement also shares responsibility for inventory control and Sales Support. In addition, develops policies and procedures for the purchasing department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for acquiring, purchasing and negotiating material for resale. Responsible for the activities of the purchasing department in procuring materials, equipment and services. Evaluates and negotiates with suppliers to ensure quality products are purchased at a marketable price compatible with company objectives. Participates in major contract negotiations and large purchases. Maintains relationships with existing suppliers. Seeks opportunities for new product and new supply sources. Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Supports the sales staff by reviewing the unfilled wants reports and assists in pricing of products. Conducts Annual evaluations and salary recommendations Monitors and reviews the budget. Reviews inventory levels and coordinates with inventory control manager. Attends procurement meetings. Other duties as needed

Must interact and communicate with all purchasing managers at our other divisions. Must be organized or have the ability to perform multi-task duties. Strong knowledge of communications products. Ability to interact and complete projects with all managers. Strong computer skills; word, excel, e-mail, act or similar account management database. Desire to learn. Solutions oriented team player. Understanding of basic accounting principles. Bachelor’s degree or five years experience.
