Group Procurement Manager
(Fleet, Transport & Logistics)

Salary: Circa €60,000 – €80,000 Euros plus car, bonus & benefits
National role based in Germany, with combination of travel and home working

Candidates will also be considered on an interim basis whilst permanent role is recruited

Our client is a multi-€billion turnover international manufacturing/packaging/distribution supplier. The key purpose of this role will be to manage the Category Strategy for Transport & Logistics expenditure across the regional German businesses, supporting new sites integration into the group and ensuring compliance with agreed processes and procedures for transport purchasing within the country and local region.

The role will incorporate developing excellent relationships with Internal Business Partners to ensure savings, cost avoidance and full understanding of new and established business needs and how they need to be reflected in the sourcing strategy, working with an Internal audit team in reviewing processes and identifying control weaknesses and recommend changes.

Typical activities;
•Achieve operational efficiencies
•Eliminate duplicate overheads and drive revenue growth through coordinated customer& stakeholder management and shared best practice in transport innovation
•Drive safety enhancements across the fleet
•Streamline the interface with logistics with the aim of reducing costs
•Support the Group annual cost savings from procurement
•Working capital reduction
•Strive for best-in-class agreements across all categories of spend
•Seek innovative solutions to achieve supply chain adoption of new technologies and practices
•Take a robust process-driven approach such that all agreements can withstand internal scrutiny and demonstrate compliance to professional practices
•Provide appropriate levels of management reporting to demonstrate compliance and realization of stated goals/targets

Knowledge, Experience & Capability;
•Proven Interim Consultant – delivery focused
•Previous experience in Logistics & Transportation
•Purchasing Best Practices
•Exposure to European sourcing programmes
•Multi-site activity – main corporate
•Category Management
•Top level negotiator – tactical and strategic
•High level of analytical skills
•Knowledge of financial modelling, e.g. lease v buy options; internal rate of return
•Effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels. (Persuasive)
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
•Fluent German & English
•Ability to travel extensively
