Specific Job Description The designated buyer will be responsible for finding sources, issuing RFQs, negotiating price, terms, conditions, and issuing the Purchase Order. Ensure compliance with Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAPs) and other Lockheed Martin policies and procedures to document compliant PO folders. Confers with suppliers and learns to analyze suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Work with supplier and Lakeland’s Accounts Payable dept to close supplier invoice issues and resolve open commitments.
Standard Job Description Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.

Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
