WHAT IS THE AGENCY-WIDE SHARED SERVICES (AWSS) DIVISION? AWSS customers are IRS employees – it provides a very broad array of complex administrative support services to every IRS employee. This list of essential services includes responsibility for real estate, facilities management, occupational safety, records and files management, career learning centers, travel services, contracts and procurement, and administering Equal Employment Opportunity programs and processes.

As a Contract Specialist at the GS-07 level, you will be responsible for timely and effectively awarding and administering contract actions consistent with program needs, procurement regulations and laws, as well as providing support to management, senior and junior level contracting and procurement personnel, customers and program personnel. Some of your major duties may include the following:
• Reviewing requests for procurement or contracts for accuracy, completeness and verification of information;
• Negotiating the procurement of supplies, equipment and services;
• Acquiring offers and awarding bids of contracts to vendors;
• Researching and resolving delivery and acceptance disputes of supplies, equipment and services
