Life Sciences Procurement Consulting Manager Accenture – New York, NY

The Life Sciences industry is experiencing significant challenges and opportunities in relation to their quality and compliance operations.

Many of Accenture’s Life Sciences clients (both pharmaceutical and medical technology) are looking to improve the contribution that their Procurement function can deliver to the companies bottom-line. This Senior Manager level position will be responsible for leading the Life Sciences Sourcing & Procurement team globally to help our clients realize this need. This is a significant growth opportunity for Accenture and we are currently seeking a strong, motivated individual to lead this practice area.

This position would be responsible for developing and managing the related strategy and plan for growth as well as selling and delivering sourcing and procurement capabilities to major Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Companies.

Specifically this executive will:
Develop a “Go to Market” strategy and plan that defines the market opportunity, key assets and resource requirements to seize and grow this domain
Develop marketing and asset development budgets and plan.
Lead related business development and sales efforts
Serve as overall sourcing and procurement Subject Matter Advisor and stay current on related requirements and legislation on a global basis as well as related market and technology trends
Develop trust based relationships with senior executives such as Chief Procurement Officers and VP’s of Procurement at pharmaceutical and medical technology companies
We are only considering applicants who are located in or willing to relocate to within 60 minutes of New York, Florham Park, or Boston.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

6+ years of experience within a Life Sciences or Consulting Organization in:

Procurement Leadership

Procurement Transformation or equivalent procurement strategy experience

Strategic Sourcing

Internal and external procurement regulations

Ability to travel up to 100%

Bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications:
Global Sourcing & Procurement Transformation Strategy (Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management In sourcing/Outsourcing, Rationalization, Organization re-design).

Experience using/implementing Procurement IT solutions (e.g. Ariba, Emptoris, SAP, etc.)

Proven ability to sell and deliver client results

Strategic thinking skills

Analytical thinking skills

Meeting and workshop facilitation skills

Professional Skills Required:
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

C-Suite Executive Presence

Leadership and people development skills

Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
